Fertilization and Herbicide


Proper amounts of nitrogen (N), phosphorous (P) and potassium (K) will be applied throughout the year based on the excess or deficient nutrients in existing soil. Herbicide will be applied according to weed infestation. The following schedule shall be observed:

  • Round 1: Winter Weed Control Jan 15 – Feb 28
    • Post-emergent for control of broadleaf weeds
    • Fertilization of cool season grasses
  • Round 2: Early Spring Fertilization and Weed Control Mar 1 – Apr 15
    • Pre-emergent for control of broadleaf and grassy weeds
    • Post-emergent for control of broadleaf weeds
    • Fertilization of cool and warm season grasses
  • Round 3: Late Spring Fertilization and Weed Control Apr 16 – May 31
    • Post-emergent for control of broadleaf weeds
    • Fertilization of cool and warm season grasses
  • Round 4: Early Summer Fertilization and Weed Control Jun 1 – Jul 15
    • Post-emergent for control of grassy weeds
    • Fertilization of warm season grasses
  • Round 5: Summer Fertilization and Weed Control Jul 16 – Aug 30
    • Pre-emergent for broadleaf weed control
    • Post-emergent for control of broadleaf weeds
    • Fertilization of cool and warm season grasses
  • Round 6: Early Fall Fertilization and Weed Control Sep 1 – Oct 15
    • Pre-emergent for broadleaf weed control
    • Post-emergent for control of broadleaf weeds
    • Fertilization of cool and warm season grasses
  • Round 7: Late Fall Fertilization and Weed Control Oct 16 – Nov 30
    • Post-emergent for control of broadleaf weeds
    • Fertilization of tall season grasses
